THE WINERY
D.O MAULE VALLEY
It began in 1960, when Lucía Donoso built the first cellar and gave this house its name. Decades later, in 1989, French winemakers arrived, recognizing a terroir in the Maule Valley that demanded to be taken seriously. The 1990s brought a revolution: traditional varieties—Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Carmenère, and Cabernet Franc—met cutting-edge European technology, stainless steel tanks, fine oak barrels, and an in-house laboratory to safeguard every process. By 2010, the estate returned home to Chilean hands, giving rise to Donoso Group and its current portfolio of eight celebrated brands.

THE CRADLE OF TRADITION
The Maule Valley is the true cradle of Chile's rural winemaking heritage—and today, it stands as the country's largest wine-growing region. Across this historic landscape, Donoso Group nurtures 550 hectares of estate vineyards, stretching all the way from the Andes foothills to the Pacific coast. This sweeping geography grants us an extraordinary tapestry of soils and grape varieties, allowing us to capture the sheer diversity and elegance of the Maule in every single bottle.

THE FOUR ESTATES

LA ORIENTAL
THE HEART & SOUL
This is the beating heart of Donoso Group, where all our enological and production work comes to life. Spanning 140 hectares in the very core of the Maule Valley, its alluvial, clay-rich soils are blessed with temperatures ranging from 10°C to 32°C during the ripening season. Most importantly, La Oriental guards our most precious treasure: our oldest, wisest vines, which have weathered the elements for over 80 years.

SAN VICENTE
POWER & GRANDEUR
Our largest estate encompasses 300 hectares in the central zone of the valley, just east of La Oriental. Here, the traditional alluvial and clay profile meets the cooling influence of the Lircay River, introducing sandy patches to the soil and weaving a unique mesoclimate for the vineyard. With ripening temperatures shifting between 10°C and 31°C, these 50-year-old vines infuse our wines with the signature power and elegance that define Donoso Group.

VAQUERÍA
COASTAL FRESHNESS
Nestled at the foot of the Coastal Mountain Range, this 80-hectare estate thrives on ancient granitic soils. The dramatic thermal amplitude here—ranging from 8°C to 33°C during maturation—allows our 50-year-old vines to yield generous grapes that impart an unmistakable freshness and vibrant elegance to our portfolio.

PENCAHUE
AROMATIC EXPRESSION
Also tucked against the Coastal Range, this boutique 30-hectare vineyard is defined by its distinctive granitic and copper-rich soils. This unique terroir yields grapes celebrated for their bright freshness and intense fruitiness, giving birth to wines of profound aromatic expression.
